I am back briefly!
British composer Sarah Baker’s “And Yet It Goes On”.
I met Sarah on Twitter when she was following my series back in June and sent me this lovely piece.
She says:
“I wrote this piece for solo piano during the period of lockdown caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, April 2020. It was a period in which my emotions varied from feelings of sadness and loss, to those of hope and wonder as the beauty of nature emerged around me. Time feels... like it is both standing still and yet relentlessly rampaging onwards, blissfully unaware.
The music reflects these thoughts and feelings in the way in which repetition and thematic development interweave in the piece.”

The esteemed British female composer Melanie Spanswick has written “The Chakra Suite” for clarinet and piano, specifically for brilliant clarinettist Nadia Barbosa and myself in June/July 2020.
“The work contains seven movements, each representing the character of the seven chakras; from the bright solidity of the Root Chakra, and the pulsating heart-beat of the Heart Chakra, through to the frenetic ‘chatty’ quality of the Throat Chakra, and the finality and defiance of the Crown Chakra.”

The Sacral Chakra is located at the sacrum, hips, and reproductive organs; it’s colour is orange, and it’s element is water. This chakra is connected to emotions, creativity, and senses. It’s also related to one-on-one relationships and deep connections to others. The word Svadhisthana breaks down to "Swa", meaning self, and "adhishthana", esta...blished.

2. スヴァ・アディシュターナ –仙骨チャクラ
仙骨チャクラは、仙骨、腰、生殖器にあります。色はオレンジ色で、要素は水です。このチャクラは、感情、創造性、感覚に関連しています。また、1対1の関係や他者との深いつながりにも関係しています。 Svadhisthanaという言葉は、自己を意味する「Swa」と、esta ... blishedを意味する「adhishthana」に分解されます。サンスクリット語で「自らの住処」という意味です。

3. Manipura – Solar Plexus Chakra
The Solar Plexus is located at the abdomen, mid-back, and side body. It’s colour is yellow, and element, fire. This chakra is associated with thoughts and feelings about oneself; it is essentially concerned with the relationship one has with oneself. Manipura means “city of jewels” or “lustrous gem”.

3.マニプラ–みぞおちチャクラ
みぞおちは腹部、背中の中央、そして体の側面にあります。色は黄色で、要素は火です。このチャクラは、自分自身についての考えや感情に関連しています。それは本質的に自分との関係に関係しています。マニプラとは「宝石の街」または「光沢のある宝石」を意味します。

4. Anahata – Heart Chakra
The Heart Chakra is located in the body at the heart, chest, shoulders, arms, hands, and upper back; it’s colour is green, and it’s element, Air. This chakra is associated with love in all its forms; from kindness to strangers, romantic love, compassion for others, friendship, family love, and self-love. Anahata translates as "unhurt, unstruck, and ...unbeaten".

4.アナハタ–ハートチャクラ
ハートチャクラは、心臓、胸、肩、腕、手、背中の上部にあります。色は緑で、要素は空気です。このチャクラは、あらゆる形態の愛と関連しています。優しさから見知らぬ人へ、ロマンチックな愛、他人への思いやり、友情、家族の愛、そして自己愛まで。アナハタは「無傷、無傷、無敗」と訳されています。

5. Vishuddha – Throat Chakra
The Throat Chakra manifests at the throat, neck, mouth, jaw, and ears; it’s colour is blue and it’s element, sound. This chakra is linked to communication, expression, speaking, and knowing when to stay quiet; it relates to the ability to understand and speak one’s inner truth. Visshudha means “especially pure”.

5. ヴィシュッダ –喉のチャクラ
喉のチャクラは、喉、首、口、顎、耳に現れます。色は青で、要素、音です。このチャクラは、コミュニケーション、表現、話し方、そしていつ静かに過ごすべきかを知ることに関連しています。それは自分の内なる真実を理解し、話す能力に関係しています。 ヴィシュッダは「特に純粋」を意味します。

6. Ajna – Third-eye Chakra
The Third-eye Chakra physically manifests at the centre of the forehead in the space between the eyebrows; it’s colour is indigo and it’s connected to the element of light. The third-eye chakra is associated with intuition, imagination, inner wisdom, insight and the sub-conscious mind. It also relates to the ability to see deep within oneself. When... the third-eye chakra is open, we are able to grasp the ‘bigger picture’, leading to a more positive view of the future. Ajna translates as “authority” or “command”.

6.アジュナ–第三の目チャクラ

This chakra is associated with the sense of enlightenment and is related to one’s sense of place in the universe. The energy from the Crown Chakra nourishes the body, mind, and spirit, and it distr...ibutes this energy throughout the physical body. Sahasrara means "thousand-petaled”.
